Challenge Tour
The purpose of the Challenge Tour is to encourage your child to practice outside tennis lessons and continue developing their coordination, balance, agility, hand eye coordination and technique. Tennis is an open skilled sport which is driven by tactics. However strong fundamental technique is vital to how well you will play the game. We like to call it Tac/Tec (Tactics linking together with technique to optimise performance).
The Challenge Tour programme has very little tactical emphasis apart from consistency and variety. However, it provides repetition to control the ball and create muscle memory. From an emotional and mental perspective, the players can develop this repetition without judgement and intervening from others allowing the child to take responsibility of their own mistakes and develop resilience as the wall does not miss! In 30 minutes on the wall for example it’s not uncommon for a player to hit around 200-300 balls, that is very difficult to replicate on the tennis court.
For this reason we have created online content with exercises and a reward system so your child can be motivated to do it at their own time.
We start with the bronze, silver, & gold level games also we have athletics (penta) games section. Please find attached how each level works and the points reward of each level.
Bronze level games: Improve your personal best, up to 3 times. Collect 10 Points for each time you improve your score
Silver Level games: Pass the challenge in each of the games and collect 30 points per game
Gold level games: 10 times repetition per game with no mistakes and collect 40 points per game
Athletic games: Improve your personal best, up to 3 times. Collect 10 Points for each time you improve your score
When your child complete 200, 500, 700 or 1000 points medals an a trophy will be award in the world tour events (kids tennis events, usually one per term).
Please download the scoring card from below button and submit this card to your coach, so points can be allocated.
No outdoor wall to practice, no trouble your child can use a foam ball to practice inside even against a window, it won't break anything and it has the same bounce of a red ball, if you would like to buy one you can click here.
